A Proper Himalayan Adventure

In March 2027, Wildness Expeditions is heading to Nepal to trek to Annapurna Base Camp - one of the most beautiful base camp treks in the Himalayas (and much less crowded than Mount Everest and other treks).

Together, we’ll walk through mountain villages, terraced hillsides, forested trails and high alpine valleys before reaching Annapurna Base Camp, surrounded by a dramatic amphitheatre of snowcapped peaks.

It’s not just about reaching base camp. It’s about the people you share the trail with, the quiet moments in the mountains, the challenge of each day, and getting a glimpse into Nepali and Himalayan culture along the way.

Your place is booked directly through Mapo Tapo. Wildness Expeditions is bringing the community - a small group of like-minded adventurers to share the experience with.

Why trek Annapurna Base Camp?

The journey changes every day.

While Everest Base Camp is often the name people know first, Annapurna Base Camp offers a different kind of Himalayan experience - one that feels more varied, immersive and intimate. The trail moves through forests, villages, valleys and high mountain landscapes before reaching the dramatic Annapurna Sanctuary, where you’re surrounded by impressive snowcapped peaks.

For us, this trek has the perfect Wildness balance: big mountain adventure, real challenge, cultural immersion, less crowded and a journey that changes day by day.

It feels immersive, beautiful and deeply rewarding.

For those who were drawn to the idea of Annapurna Circuit but can’t disappear for 3-4 weeks, Annapurna Base Camp offers a more achievable way to experience the magic of the Annapurna region while still feeling like a true Himalayan adventure.

The Expedition

Wild landscapes. Shared challenge. Lasting connection.

This is a journey into the heart of the Annapurna region - a two-week trek through mountain villages, forest trails, river valleys and high alpine landscapes, leading all the way to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m.

Each day brings something different: changing scenery, steady climbs, shared meals, quiet trail moments and the growing sense that you’re moving deeper into one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes on Earth.

Challenging, beautiful and deeply rewarding, this is a proper Himalayan adventure - made even better by the people you share it with.

  • Daily trekking (approx. 4-8 hours per day) through terraced hillsides, mountain villages, rhododendron forests, river valleys and alpine terrain

How to Prepare

You don’t need to be a mountaineer, but you do need to be ready for multiple days of trekking at altitude.

In the lead-up to the trip, we recommend building your hiking fitness with regular walks, stair sessions, hill training or longer weekend hikes while carrying a daypack.

A good base level of cardio, strong legs and time spent walking on uneven terrain will make the experience much more enjoyable.

You’ll also want to make sure you have comfortable hiking boots, warm layers, a good daypack and the right gear for changing mountain conditions.

We’ll share more detailed preparation notes and packing guidance with the group before departure. Once you have booked, you will be added to our Wildness WhatsApp group where we will discuss any pre-trek preparation.
